Bachelorette party in Switzerland: the stress-free guide
How to organise a party in Zurich, Basel, Lausanne or Geneva — ideas that work with groups of 6 to 20, how much it costs and what to do when no one has time to plan.
A bachelorette party in Switzerland has two problems: everyone's busy, and everything costs double what it does in Portugal. This guide solves both — with ideas we've already seen work and a way to do it without anyone in the group losing a month organising.
First decide the format
- One day (the most common): morning with an activity, late lunch, free afternoon, dinner and party.
- One evening (for groups with kids and tight schedules): late-afternoon workshop + dinner.
- A weekend: a Swiss city or a short getaway (Ticino, Alsace, or our favourite — Morocco).
Ideas that actually work
- Sushi, pastry or cocktail workshop — the group makes something together and the result gets eaten or drunk.
- Hair + makeup + photo session — the bride gets real photos taken; so do her friends.
- Pilates or yoga in the morning and brunch after: start the day light.
- Boat on the lake (Zurich, Lausanne, Lucerne) — from June to September, the scenery does half the work.
- Themed dinner + party — long table, one theme, music picked by the friends.
- Game walk around the city: questions about the bride, small challenges, prize at the end.
How much it costs
Depends on the city and what you choose. As a reference, in Zurich: a workshop between CHF 60 and CHF 110 per person; dinner CHF 50 to CHF 90; private boat from CHF 400 per hour for the group. Mistakes we always see
- Booking too late: the best venues in Zurich fill up 6 to 8 weeks in advance.
